About the role

Product Managers at Tyro play a critical role in defining, delivering, and evolving a differentiated portfolio of products that drive value for our 70,000+ customers. As a key member of the product team, you will work closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing to define the strategy for your product which will ensure that Tyro can win in market. Your deep understanding of competitors, key customer pain points, world class product thinking will allow you to create market leading products for Tyro which solve real customer pain and drives business growth for Tyro.  

Join our Online Payments team, where we sit at the intersection of payments, technology, and trust. We help merchants grow while giving customers a seamless, frictionless way to pay. This role calls for a customer-obsessed, data-driven, and execution-focused mindset, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence key decisions.

What you'll do

  • Own the strategy and execution for a product or a key part of a product, ensuring alignment with the broader product strategy. 

  • Define clear objectives and measurable success metrics, ensuring a strong linkage between customer needs and business goals

  • Collaborate with leadership to refine product priorities, making data-driven trade-offs based on impact, feasibility, and strategic fit.

  • Maintain direct, frequent engagement with customers, gathering qualitative insights and validating key assumptions.

  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and market positioning.

  • Leverage data and analytics to track adoption, usage trends, and customer pain points, continuously iterating on improvements. 

  • Work in close partnership with engineering and design to define requirements, break down user stories, and manage backlog prioritisation. 

  • Ensure efficient, high-quality execution across all stages of the product lifecycle-from concept to launch and iteration.

  • Participate in key ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.), ensuring clarity on priorities and unblocking teams when needed. 

  • Oversee impactful launch plans, GTM strategies, and enablement materials for internal teams (sales, support, marketing).

  • Ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration, aligning stakeholders across sales, operations, and legal teams for successful product rollout.

  • Actively contribute to internal and external communication, ensuring transparency in product decisions and roadmap updates. 

What you'll bring

  • Ability to define and execute against a 6-12 month product roadmap, balancing short-term wins with long-term impact. 

  • Demonstrated ability to ship impactful features, working closely with engineering and design. 

  • Experience in c ustomer discovery/research - identifying key pain points and translating them into product solutions. 

  • Ability to analyse competitive products and industry trends, ensuring strong product positioning. 

  • Strong data-driven mindset, with  proficiency in metrics analysis (e.g., funnel analysis, cohort tracking). 

  • Comfortable working with engineering teams, with a solid understanding of agile development processes. 

  • Ability to write clear product specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 

  • Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and iterative product development. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions across teams. 

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success). 

  • Ability to clearly articulate trade-offs and balance multiple competing priorities.
