About the Role

As a Project Officer in the Recovery Partnerships team, you will make impact by leading engagements and shaping partnerships with a range of stakeholders to strengthen disaster recovery strategies. You will foster effective relationships and coordinate projects that enable the delivery of community-centred recovery and resilience.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across government, non-government, industry and non-profit organisations to support recovery initiatives.
  • Lead the development of formal arrangements, including procurement and contracting, with key stakeholders, to strengthen recovery readiness.
  • Manage and coordinate offers of support from non-government, non-profit and industry sectors.
  • Facilitate the delivery of recovery activities by coordinating efforts across government and non-government organisations, including donations management.
  • Assist the team in handling enquiries and preparing responses for Executive and Ministerial Offices.
  • Design and implement processes to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide support for administrative functions as required.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and insightful Project Officer with astute skills in stakeholder management and project coordination to support initiatives that make NSW communities stronger, safer and more resilient to disasters in a changing world.

Your experience:

  • Proven experience with stakeholder management across sectors and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships to drive collaborative outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination from initiation through to implementation with proficiency in task management, project documentation and effective communication.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and progress work within a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to engage, influence and negotiate towards organisational and project objectives.
  • Knowledge of disaster risk reduction, emergency management and disaster recovery policy (desirable).
  • Data handing and analytical skills, including basic proficiency in data collection, interpretation and reporting to support project outcomes and experience using common tools such as Excel and survey platforms (desirable).

About the Agency

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is an executive agency of the Premier's Department. The RA will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster. 

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
