Senior Structural Engineer – Mining & Resources Projects (Perth, WA)

About the Role

We're partnering with a leading engineering consultancy that's expanding its footprint in the
mining and resources sector across Western Australia
. This role will suit an experienced
Senior Structural Engineer
who enjoys combining technical design with hands-on project delivery, supporting major studies and detailed design work for both new and existing operations.

You'll work alongside a highly capable team of multidisciplinary engineers, contributing your expertise to the planning, design, and construction of complex structures — from materials handling systems through to processing and support infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver detailed structural designs and analyses, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Review and interpret project briefs, drawings, and specifications to provide practical, buildable design outcomes.
  • Advise on temporary works, construction methodologies, and staging plans in coordination with site and contractor teams.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, designers, and contractors, to achieve integrated project outcomes.
  • Contribute to technical reports, design documentation, and design verification processes.
  • Participate in business development activities such as tender preparation, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Manage technical risks and identify opportunities for design optimisation or cost savings.
  • Support the development of junior engineers and foster a strong technical culture within the team.
  • Ensure all work aligns with relevant Australian Standards, client requirements, and company systems.

About You

You'll bring a strong background in structural design and engineering for heavy industry, mining, or related infrastructure environments. You're technically sound, commercially aware, and confident engaging directly with clients and site teams.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Chartered or working toward CPEng ideal).
  • 5–10 years' structural design experience, ideally within mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure projects.
  • Solid understanding of Australian Standards and construction safety principles.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand7, Microstran, or similar).
  • Proven ability to deliver practical, constructible solutions in fast-moving project environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to represent your team and company to clients.
  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in contributing to a growing business.
