We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant for a 6-12 month contract to cover Maternity Leave.

We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to cover a maternity leave contract. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a key role in our financial operations and contribute to the success of a growing national brand.

Role Summary

As a
Financial Accountant at Pet Pro 360
, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting management with insights that drive strategic decisions. This is a hands-on role where you'll be directly involved in process improvements, efficiency projects, and compliance initiatives that support our financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record financial transactions accurately and timely in the general ledger for 2-4 pet resort entities
  • Follow up with individual pet resorts on inconsistencies in the cash receipting process with a view to making recommendations about process improvements
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules.
  • Monitor and assess financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency

Must Haves

  • Reliable mode of transport to our Ingleside office
    (public transport options are limited)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a financial accounting role

About You

Beyond the essentials, you'll bring:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, compliance, and reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero experience an advantage) and MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for continuous improvement – and ideally, a love for pets
