Sous Chef

Are you an experienced and motivated chef ready to take the next step in your culinary career?

Rawnsley Park Station is seeking a proactive and reliable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading kitchen operations and delivering exceptional meals to guests.

You'll play a hands-on role in preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring a smooth, efficient service that reflects the resort's high standards.

This role also steps up to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, offering a fantastic opportunity for professional growth and leadership experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and meal service
  • Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard of quality and presentation
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff during service periods
  • Contribute to menu planning, specials, and recipe development
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food waste
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards are met
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service

About you

This opportunity would suit a passionate and organised Sous Chef with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie in a busy restaurant, resort, or hotel environment
  • Excellent cooking skills with an eye for consistency and presentation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to support and motivate others
  • Solid understanding of food safety and WHS standards
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Certifications in Food Safety and First Aid (desirable)
