In this pivotal role, you will oversee the delivery of a critical business support function which includes Finances and Human Resource processes and reporting for our busy Delivery Support Service (DSS) business unit ensuring that day to day business operations run efficiently, effectively, and in line with strategic priorities.

You will report directly to the Senior Director providing trusted leadership and oversight across all incoming corporate requests, correspondence and business management activities. Your expertise will ensure smooth coordination, clear communication, and strong alignment between business support functions, delivery teams, and senior leadership.

About the role:

As the Senior Business Officer, you will:

  • Manage and lead the coordination and delivery, of core business functions activities including finance, administration, human resources, information management, procurement, contract management and analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure alignment and compliance with organisational and departmental policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Champion cultural improvement initiatives, driving a high-performance, innovative, and accountable workplace.
  • Deliver innovative and practical solutions that enable programs and projects to succeed across the agency.

About you:

  • Significant experience in business operations — including finance, HR, procurement, correspondence and reporting.
  • Strong leadership and line management skills, with the ability to motivate multidisciplinary staff and embed a culture of performance and accountability.
  • The ability to interpret and analyse policy, identify risks and opportunities, and develop solutions to complex organisational challenges.
  • A commitment to innovation and improvement, with the confidence to put forward new ideas and lead change.
