A very busy cafe, open for breakfast and lunch in Burleigh Waters, seeking an experienced Kitchen Hand. Must be available weekends and few days during the week.
As a Kitchen Hand, you will be responsible for providing essential support in our fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment. This is a casual position, asking for flexibility.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting with food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Packing and unpacking dishwasher
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen work area
- Ensuring proper storage and handling of all food items
- Operating kitchen equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
- Providing general support to the kitchen team as required
- Adhering to all health, safety and hygiene standards
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high levels of cleanliness and organisation
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- A passion for the hospitality industry and a genuine interest in food preparation
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations
