We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused team members to join our busy seaside café. At Surfing Lizard Café, we pride ourselves on great coffee, fresh food, and friendly service in a relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Job Description

As a Cook, you'll play an important role in delivering quality dishes that reflect our standard and style. You'll work closely with our chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and stays clean, organised, and well-stocked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to our recipes and portion standards

  • Assist chefs with basic food prep and kitchen duties

  • Help keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly

  • Ensure equipment is clean and ready to go before each service

  • Maintain food safety and hygiene procedures

  • Support inventory checks, stock rotation, and kitchen prep

  • Work as part of a collaborative and fast-paced kitchen team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone who's reliable, hardworking, and ready to learn

  • A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed

  • At least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen

  • Understanding of food safety regulations

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
