Graduate Design Engineer

Introduction:

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our Engineering & Projects team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to begin their career working on complex, high-impact local and international defence projects.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, gaining exposure across the full engineering lifecycle, from design and analysis through to testing and validation

The role responsibilities include:

Support engineering activities across defence projects, including design, analysis, verification and validation.

Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, reports and specifications in accordance with defence standards.

Contribute to systems engineering, risk assessments and configuration management activities.

Participate in testing, inspections and acceptance activities.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project management, quality and manufacturing.

Comply with all safety, quality and security requirements.

Skills and Experiences:

You are a recent graduate who is eager to learn, technically curious and keen to build a long-term career in the defence sector.

You will have:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic or related discipline)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with CAD design software ie: Solidworks

Good written and verbal communication skills

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Australian Citizenship (mandatory due to defence security requirements)

Desirable (but not essential)

Exposure to defence, aerospace, manufacturing or heavy industry environments

Understanding of systems engineering principles

Familiarity with engineering standards (e.g. AS, ISO, MIL-STD)

Internship, vacation work or project experience in a technical environment

Additional Requirements:

Due to the nature of our work and the requirements of our customers, all applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and need to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance as part of employment eligibility.
