About the Role

Are you hands-on, reliable, and ready to support a skilled trade team in delivering high-quality work? We're looking for a Trade Assistant to join our workshop team, supporting tradespeople in the final fit-out, mechanical repair, and component manufacturing of heavy trailers.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things right the first time, works safely, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, high-performing team. You'll assist across a range of workshop duties, maintain equipment, ensure quality standards are met, and contribute to a strong safety culture.

In this role, you'll:

· Support tradespeople with general workshop and labouring duties.

· Assist in the final fit-out, repair, and manufacturing of heavy trailer components.

· Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and as trained.

· Complete assigned work on time, to quality standards, and in line with build specifications.

· Carry out basic task analysis to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.

· Accurately record your daily hours and maintain required documentation.

· Contribute to a positive and safe team environment, supporting apprentices and team members where needed.

· Follow company policies and procedures and actively promote a strong safety culture.

· Previous experience in a workshop, trade, or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential).

· Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious work habits.

· The physical ability to perform manual tasks and operate tools and equipment safely.

Desirable Skills and Experience

· Experience in transport industry, trailer manufacturing or heavy vehicle assembly

· A relevant trade certificate

· Experience and knowledge in quality assurance

Physical Requirements

· Ability to do manual and repetitive tasks safely, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy components (up to [insert kg as appropriate, e.g., 20–25kg]).

· Stand, bend, crouch, and move within a workshop environment for extended periods.

· Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.

· Work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., noise, dust, temperature changes) with appropriate PPE.

· Maintain physical fitness sufficient for the demands of workshop and trade-related activities.
