Equity & Access is responsible for developing access pathways, equity programs, and supports that enhance the retention and success of the University's student cohort, its ability to achieve enrolment targets, and meet the University's Objects and strategic direction as a Catholic university. As part of this portfolio, Pathways delivers high quality enabling education, short courses, and programs which provide alternative entry or credit to facilitate students' successful entry to university education.
 
About the role

The UniPath program at The University of Notre Dame Australia supports high school students in building the academic skills needed for university success. This role involves coordinating courses and designing high-quality enabling programs and short courses that foster student engagement and positive learning outcomes, while being an engaging and effective teacher who inspires confidence and curiosity in learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops to achieve program outcomes.
  • Coordinate courses and teaching staff to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Stay informed of best practice pedagogies to support continuous program improvement based on student outcomes and feedback.
  • Undertake retention and orientation activities, including monitoring student engagement and providing academic and pastoral support.
  • Maintain strong relationships with secondary school stakeholders to support student pathways.
  • Participate in team meetings, working groups, committees, and comply with all relevant University policies and procedures.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Relevant doctoral or master's qualification, or equivalent accreditation and standing, as expected for a Level B Academic.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in enabling programs, with senior secondary education experience considered desirable.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver evidence-based, student-focused curriculum that supports diverse student cohorts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence, negotiate, and achieve consensus at senior levels.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to and support for the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
