We're searching for an experienced Mobile Engineer, who will be responsible for designing and developing the core mobile application. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering the next generation lending platform capabilities, which powers the livelihoods of millions of users by giving them early access to their pay.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to define software requirements, architecture, and design, and implementing best practices and processes to ensure software quality, reliability, and security. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in iOS or Android app development, strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of software design principles and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop iOS/Android mobile applications using Swift, Kotlin/Java, Flutter programming languages
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to define software requirements, architecture, and design, and ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Engage with product management and stakeholders to understand UX & UI design, so end-user requirements can be effectively translated into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and career development, while reviewing code and architecture to align with business and technical goals.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design and develop RESTful APIs to support mobile applications
  • Work collaboratively with the QA team to ensure software quality and reliability throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Stay current with software technology trends, willingness to adapt to new technologies, advocating for innovative practices to enhance development processes and outcomes, including compliance with industry standards.
  • Proactively identify and address technical risks and issues, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the software development team.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, maintaining a high sense of ownership and a proactive approach to tasks.

Competencies

  • Computer Science Degree or Equivalent with at least 5-7 years of experience
  • Solid experience on building mobile apps on Swift or Kotlin and Flutter with primary focus preferably on Flutter/Dart
  • Experience with integrating third-party libraries and APIs within Flutter applications, along with a deep understanding of iOS/Android SDK, architecture patterns (MVVM , MVP) and best practices
  • Experience on creating, maintaining and executing automated tests on mobile application
  • Leading and managing the end-to-end development lifecycle of mobile applications.
  • Strong understanding on managing the release process, ensuring compliance with App Store / Google Play requirements and updates, and monitoring and tracking app status, with the ability to fix issues and adapt as needed.
  • Experience with software development tools: Github, Clickup, TestRail, Postman (or similar tools)
  • Experience with modern CI/CD practices, familiarity with Agile methodologies, and a big plus if has background in Fintech
  • Good understanding of design patterns for mobile development
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and a questioning attitude
