JMD Engineering are an established multi-disciplinary design consultancy with offices in Perth and Bunbury servicing our major clients across mining and mineral processing sectors.

Due to an expanding project portfolio, we are currently inviting applications from experienced Senior Structural Design Engineers with a strong passion for structural design and the drive and ability to deliver high-quality project solutions within a team of likeminded professionals.

What you will need – Technical

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Construction) specialising in Structural Engineering
  • Membership with Engineers Australia (CPEng status highly desirable)
  • A minimum of 8 years' design experience in the mining and mineral processing sectors in both a brownfields and greenfields environment
  • Demonstrated experience with SPACE GASS, Femap, Tekla Tedds, AutoCAD and Navisworks is highly desirable
  • A strong understanding of Australian design standards and building codes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • A strong analytical and mathematical aptitude

What you will do

  • Apply your technical expertise to develop and deliver practical engineering and design solutions at an advanced level
  • Ensure the fundamental principles of Safety in Design are considered and applied to all stages during the design process
  • Undertake and peer review complex engineering analysis, calculations, design tasks and engineering reporting to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, Codes and Regulations
  • Provide practical leadership, guidance, co-ordination and monitoring of engineering deliverables in line with project budgets, schedules and scope requirements
  • Provide technical and practical support to co-workers including training, mentoring and development of junior team members
  • Develop and drive a high-performance culture within the team
  • Assist clients with troubleshooting of structural issues and development of practical engineering solutions
  • Complete site inspections, structural audits and preparation and peer reviews of engineering reports including development of practical remediation plans
