About the role
Join a major multi-year transformation program delivering a centralised, unified data platform to enable trusted, timely insights across a large government department. This initiative focuses on robust data governance, quality control, and advanced analytics to empower evidence-based decision-making.

We are seeking a hands-on
Data Engineer
with strong experience in
Microsoft Fabric
(or similar) and
Azure
to design, build, and operate secure, reliable data pipelines and products.

You will work across ingestion and transformation layers (Bronze/Silver/Gold), implement semantic models for reporting, and integrate governance using
Microsoft Purview
.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and operate pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services.
  • Implement medallion architecture and reusable data products for Power BI.
  • Automate deployment and monitoring using Git-based workflows and CI/CD.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and cost optimisation.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in data engineering delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, SQL, PySpark, and Azure data services.
  • Familiarity with Purview, medallion architecture, and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong understanding of security, privacy, and governance.
