Network Engineer Opportunity

  • Length of contract:
    12 months with two 12-month extension options.
  • Work locations:
    Onsite in ACT.
  • Security clearance requirements:
    NV1 minimum
  • Key technical skills:
    Strong experience in delivering scalable, secure network solutions, including cloud-based systems, and expertise in automation, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Network Engineer to contribute to critical projects that support Australia's national interests. You will play a pivotal role in delivering, maintaining, and optimising secure and resilient network solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments. Your work will directly support the organisation's goals of enhancing operational capabilities and improving internal and customer systems.

Your duties will include:

  • Monitoring, measuring, and optimising infrastructure load, performance, and security events.
  • Investigating and implementing tools, techniques, and processes for system and service management, including automation.
  • Planning, installing, maintaining, and updating infrastructure components and services to meet security and quality standards.
  • Ensuring operational procedures and documentation are up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Automating routine network administration tasks using standard tools and scripting.
  • Configuring tools and scripts to automate provisioning, testing, and deployment of infrastructure changes.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • 5-10 years of experience developing and delivering solutions for complex projects.
  • Strong technical skills across various deployments and architectures.
  • Expertise in availability management, disaster recovery planning, and performance optimisation.
  • Proven ability to investigate and resolve operational issues in systems, processes, and services.
  • Experience in supervising complex installations and developing procedures for seamless handovers.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (desirable).
