The Opportunity

CS Energy is seeking a strategic and commercially astute General Counsel to join its Senior Leadership Team at a pivotal time for the business and the energy sector.

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, this key role works closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board to provide legal and governance advice that enables major commercial decisions, effectively manages risk, and supports CS Energy's strategy. You will lead a high-performing Legal and Co-Sec team, strengthen internal capability, and oversee external legal partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on major commercial deals, joint ventures, and governance issues.
  • Guide executive and Board decision-making across regulatory, corporate, and dispute matters.
  • Lead legal input into strategic partnerships and asset transactions.
  • Build a strong, accountable legal function aligned to CS Energy's high-performance culture.
  • Engage with key government and regulatory stakeholders.

About You

You are an accomplished legal leader with deep experience advising Boards and executives in complex, regulated, or asset-intensive environments.

You bring:

  • Proven leadership across commercial law, JVs, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, ideally including government and regulatory bodies.
  • A collaborative leadership style aligned to CS Energy's values of accountability, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Experience within Queensland's GOC environment (highly regarded but not essential).
