Support Worker (Mental Health & Disability)

Employment type: Casual and Part-time opportunities
Pay: $36–$41 per hour (plus superannuation and applicable penalties)
Location: Greater Melbourne & surrounding suburbs

The role:As a Support Worker, you'll provide practical, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented support to NDIS participants living with psychosocial disability and/or other disabilities. You'll work across home, community and social settings to help people meet their goals.
About you:You're compassionate, reliable and calm under pressure. You bring sound judgement and a learner's mindset.
Day-to-day, you will:- Support daily living: personal care, meal prep, medication prompts (as trained), domestic assistance
- Enable community access: transport, appointments, social and recreational activities
- Follow individual support plans, routines and behaviour support strategies
- Use professional communication and boundaries to build safe, trusting relationships
- Keep accurate, timely documentation (progress notes, incidents, risk alerts)
- Collaborate with families, guardians and allied health providers as required
- Uphold participant rights, dignity and choice — always
- Respectful, supportive leadership and a genuinely inclusive culture

- Paid training and development, with clear progression pathways
- User-friendly apps for rosters, notes and incident reporting
- Meaningful work where small wins matter every day
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or equivalent experience
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligible to obtain)
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Current National Police Check (within 12 months)
- Valid Working With Children Check (VIC)
- Current First Aid & CPR (HLTAID011/HLTAID009)
- Australian working rights
- Full driver licence and reliable, insured vehicle (for community access)
- Competitive hourly rates + super + penalties & loadings (as applicable)
- Casual and permanent part-time pathways
- Rotating shifts: mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers
- Reimbursed kilometres when transporting participants
- Regular team check-ins, debriefs and wellbeing support
