About the role

Lower Plenty Primary School is seeking an experienced Out of Hours School Care Coordinator to lead and manage our after school care program. This part-time role will be responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of the school's out-of-hours care services, ensuring a safe, engaging and nurturing environment for our students. The successful candidate will be based at our school site in Lower Plenty, VIC. Our After School Care program runs from 2:45 to 6pm with the coordinator being employed from 2:00 to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. We can be flexible around days if required.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the daily operations of the vacation and after school care programs, including staff supervision, program planning and implementation

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies and procedures related to the provision of out-of-hours care services

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/guardians and school leadership

  • Prepare budgets, monitor expenditure and maintain accurate records and reporting

  • Coordinate the recruitment, training and rostering of qualified and engaging program staff

  • Plan and deliver a diverse range of enriching activities and experiences for students

  • Liaise with school administration to ensure seamless integration of out-of-hours care with the overall school operations

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar out-of-hours school care or childcare coordination role

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education or a related field

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of educators

  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for designing engaging and educational activities for children

  • Excellent knowledge of relevant regulations, policies and compliance requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check and first aid qualifications
