The Position

Reporting into the CEO, and supporting the Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Planning and Projects is a key leadership role driving the implementation and integration of ECMS' new 2030 Strategy and growth plans.

The role will lead a small team that will focus on connecting the organisation with its strategic aspirations through value-add planning processes, overseeing the creation of a PMO and maximising the opportunities for growth as a result of the 'Best Start, Best Life' reforms in Victoria. Central to the role will be embedding practices and disciplines that improve organisational sustainability, in its broadest sense: cultural, financial, operational sustainability.

This role is well suited to someone who has hands on planning and project management experience in driving the full lifecycle of transformation/change and is looking to extend their career at an organisation where they can make a meaningful impact. Proven experience leading and guiding teams is highly desirable as is strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to balance innovation and pragmatism.

Early Childhood Management Services (ECMS) has been providing Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) for children, families, and communities across Melbourne for over 25 years.

As a not-for-profit social enterprise, our team of over 1,100 supports over 6,000 children and their families and operates 75 ECEC services across 16 municipalities in the Greater Melbourne area.

ECMS is a high-quality Early Year's Manager – of the 75 services we manage, 100% are Meeting or Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS) compared to 89% at the National level.
