Clinical Nurse Consultant

Please note: This role can also be filled by an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker - Senior as per the Role Description.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Crisis Care Coordinator) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

Provide efficient and responsive mental health assessment and management at a high level
Deliver high level clinical services in accordance with professional code of ethics and National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce.
Provide high level clinical leadership and advocacy for the mental health needs of service consumers and their carers
Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

Permanent part time (64 hrs p.f)
Base salary ranging from $ $72.58 per hour

The Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care services. This team's role is to be the first point of contact for the GCHHS Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include acute care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission. ACT is committed to providing a service that is empathic, courteous and able to develop positive relationships with people in crisis, founded on hope and recovery.
