About the Region

About the role

• Based in Kingaroy
• Permanent Full Time
• $64K - $67K per annum + Allowances + Super

Council is seeking an effective team member for the road maintenance or construction team in the use of safe and efficient operation of plant. The role will provide high quality specialist operation of Council's truck fleet and other plant and equipment during road construction and maintenance operations. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the effective operation of mobile plant within construction/maintenance environment together with knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.

Additional Factors

• Participation in after hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position
• Level of fitness required to undertake a broad range of physical tasks
• Working outdoors in hot conditions

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a current HR Class driver's licence.
• General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Certification (White Card).

Desirable Qualifications

• HC Truck licence
• Relevant plant tickets/certifications
• Traffic Control Ticket (Level 1)
• Certificate III in Civil Construction

Skills and experience

**Please address the following key selection criteria items below, as part of your application**

1. Demonstrated experience in the effective operation of mobile plant within construction / maintenance environment together with knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
2. Demonstrated ability to achieve quarry, construction and maintenance standards.
3. Demonstrated ability to maintain and service heavy plant and equipment (including pre-start inspections).
4. Basic literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills.
5. Ability to complete assigned works duties on time and within required standards.
