Plant Operator

Council is recruiting Plant Operator / Labourers to join various teams inRoma.

Parks & Gardens

Maintain
the presentation of the Roma's parks and open spaces in line with service level
standards, including but not limited to:

• Maintenance
  of open spaces, parks and gardens, including mowing, weed control /spraying,
  irrigation, landscaping and pruning
• Slashing,
  whipper snipping and weed control including town entrance ways and Cemetery
• Litter
  control in parks, open spaces, and town approaches
• Maintenance
  of gutters and drainage infrastructure for parks & open spaces
• Mowing
  of parks & open spaces, footpaths and pathways
• Tree
  maintenance
• Inspection
  of park infrastructure i.e., playgrounds
• Garden
  beds and street scape enhancements and maintenance

Urban Streets, Drainage, & Footpaths

Maintain
the presentation of the Roma township area in line with service level
standards, including but not limited to:

• Slashing,
  whipper sniping and weed control around urban streets including town entrances
• Litter
  control in urban streets and town approaches
• Maintenance
  of culverts, gutters and drainage infrastructure
• Maintenance
  of long drains and vacant land
• Daily
  cleaning of Roma's CBD
• Street
  tree maintenance
• Assistance with the
  delivery of burials and cemetery maintenance

Water, Sewerage, & Gas

Maintenance
of work sites and general housekeeping prior to completion including mowing, slashing,
weed control and collection of waste material

• Repairs
  to fences, gates, buildings and other structures
• Complete
  traffic control signage set up, maintenance and collect as per traffic control
  plans
• Maintenance
  of valve and hydrant boxes and markers
• Contribute
  to preventative maintenance tasks as required
• Assist
  with water main repairs and sewer blockages and overflows
• Maintenance
  of services at other council facilities
• Perform
  site visits and take samples and readings as required
• Collection
  and swapping of chemical containers
• Conduct
  gas meter readings, as required
• Perform
  manual duties to contribute to water, sewerage and gas repairs, upgrades and
  renewals
• Carry
  out site preparation and clean up for specific

A position within our Water, Sewerage & Gas team is required to be rostered
for after-hours on-call duties and/or may be required to work flexible
hours as required by operational needs.

• General Construction White Card
• Current Drivers Licence
• Experience in plant operator, civil construction, horticulture and/or local government

• Roma, Qld
• Permanent, Full-Time Positions - 38hours per week
• Entitled to Maranoa Locality Allowance - $72.00 Per Fortnight
• 5 weeks annual leave
