About Engagement and Advancement:

This position is within the Engagement and Advancement Department (E&A), reporting directly to the Senior Philanthropy Associate, under the direction of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager. E&A is responsible for generating fundraising revenue to support QIMR Berghofer's research programs and protecting and strengthening the Institute's reputation for research excellence.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for a proactive and creative Trusts and Foundations Associate to join QIMR Berghofer, a world-leading medical research institute. This role is pivotal in securing major funding from Trusts and Foundations to support the Institute's strategic objectives and drive impactful medical research.

The following duties will apply:

• Manage the development and delivery of the Trusts and Foundation fundraising strategy.
• Identify and research prospective Trusts and Foundations, (including PAF's), establish and nurture relationships, and prepare compelling proposals and applications.
• Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposals and reports.
• Organise events, visits, and meetings to encourage and maintain support.
• Collaborate with researchers and internal stakeholders to identify funding opportunities.
• Manage existing donor relationships, providing high-level stewardship.
• Maintain accurate records in the CRM database (RE NXT).
• Provide regular reports on progress, targets, and income generated.

About you:

To be successful in your application, you should be able to demonstrate;

• Tertiary qualifications in Fundraising/Marketing/Business or related field; or equivalent relevant professional experience in a philanthropy program.
• Demonstrated experience in relationship cultivation and management, ideally in Major Gifts and/or Partnerships and/or Trust and Foundation Gifts.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and establish priorities to achieve financial targets.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports.
• The ability to understand complex research programs and translate them into compelling proposals.
• Experience in building and managing Trust & Foundations pipelines and programs.

Remuneration: Salary range is $118,701 to $127,109 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, continuing appointment.
