Role Purpose

The Head of Finance & Account Operations is accountable for ensuring the Finance and Account Operations functions work in full alignment to deliver accurate, efficient, compliant and high-quality services to clients that include Reinsurers, Insurers and Underwriting Agencies (including Lloyd's Coverholders). This role provides senior leadership, integration, and oversight across both teams, ensuring operational resilience, a high degree of accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client service. The Head drives operational excellence, develops team capability, and ensures our services remain trusted, efficient, and scalable as the business grows.

Role and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Integration

·      Provide direction and senior leadership to the Finance and Account Operations teams.

·      Ensure both functions work in alignment to deliver seamless outcomes for clients, regulators, and

stakeholders.

·      Act as the escalation point for complex financial, operational, and regulatory issues.

·      Partner with the CEO/MD to translate new opportunities into executable client service and operational

delivery plans.

Client Service & Regulatory Assurance

·      Ensure all client deliverables including financial reporting, regulatory obligations, and operational

outputs are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.

·      Together with the Director of Regulatory Affairs & Assurance, ensure all regulatory reporting

obligations are met with the highest degree of accuracy.

·      Maintain and enhance the firm's reputation for technical accuracy, reliability, and compliance within

the insurance sector.

·      Always represent the firm with authority and professionalism.

Operational Excellence

·      Monitor KPIs across Finance and Operations, ensuring corrective actions are identified and

implemented proactively.

·      Together with the Senior Finance Manager and Account Operations Manager, oversee workflow

management, and service delivery standards across both Finance and Account Operations.

·      Drive process improvement, and quality assurance to ensure services are efficient, scalable, and risk

aware.

People & Culture

. Lead, mentor, and support the Senior Finance Manager and Account Operations Manager, ensuring

they are accountable for team performance and development.

·      Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

·      
Oversee succession planning, cross-skilling, and talent development to reduce single points of failure

and build resilience.

·      
Model the firm's values and ensure teams uphold the highest standards of client service.

Reporting & Insights

·      Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting to the CEO and leadership team on Finance and

Operations performance.

·      Translate technical and operational outputs into insights that support decision-making and business

growth.

·      Highlight risks, opportunities, and service improvements proactively.

Experience/Qualifications

· years in a similar role, working with or within the insurance industry.

·      Deep understanding of the general insurance industry including accounting and regulatory reporting,

as well as the wider APRA prudential framework.

·      Experience dealing with clients on complex technical / finance matters and building relationships as a

trusted advisor.

·      CA or CPA qualified is highly advantageous.
