Based at Queensland's Coolum Beach, Shipping Container Pools has been manufacturing revolutionary, lightweight, all-in-one above-ground swimming pools since 2012. It's an amazing and award-winning concept.

We repurpose A-grade shipping containers into fully self-contained fibreglass swimming pools with all equipment fitted inside the container itself. Our pools suit pretty much any elevated or flat site, they are relocatable, and we deliver to happy clients throughout Australia.

We are currently seeking a Welder/Metal Fabricator to join our friendly team on a permanent, full-time basis.

About the job:

You'll be modifying A-grade shipping containers to take our award-winning fibreglass swimming pool shells, including the manufacture of internal supporting steelwork. This is one of the first steps of our pool build process - our throughput depends on your positive attitude, your eye for detail, and your pride in your work.

In a typical day, you'll use these skills:

  • Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings whilst communicating with the production team up and down the line.
  • Material Preparation: measure, cut, grind, and prepare various steel sections, including sheet metal, RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section), and other structural components.
  • Welding Processes: Execute a variety of welding processes, with a strong emphasis on gasless MIG welding to create strong, clean, and aesthetically pleasing welds on steel.
  • Container Modification: including cutting, grinding, welding, fitting of structural elements such as bulkheads, access points, and other metal components
  • Comply with safety procedures
  • Manage your time to meet production deadlines.
