This contract role is for a position within the Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) team at one of QLD's largest state departments & will focus on technical support of the departments operations, Temporary Traffic Management subject matter expertise and Temporary Traffic Management improvements across all construction and maintenance product lines. This includes creating policies, procedures and training, reviewing Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes, providing input to crash investigations and Temporary Traffic Management contractual arrangements, trialing innovative Temporary Traffic Management technologies and program managing the overall Temporary Traffic Management improvements program.
Responsibilities
- Manage TTM improvements program and projects to meet the annual program objectives
- Build relationship with the departments operations and stakeholders
- Manage consultants and contractors to support the delivery of TTM improvements program
- Continuously monitor Integrum for incident notifications
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of TTM performance across the departments projects, translating findings into actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholder groups, including industry Operation Units, the departments SMEs in the central office, external partners and other areas of the department, to propose and implement initiatives aimed at improving TTM capability and performance.
- Manage and report on the effective delivery of TTM projects that aim to improve safety at road worksites
Successful candidate
- Solid Project/program Management experience in the office environment
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills to navigate complex relationships, build consensus and manage expectations.
- Shows resilience and can navigate ambiguity to deliver outcomes in a complex and changing environment.
- Proven ability to communicate in a clear, succinct, and compelling manner adjusting the message to suit different audiences.
- Experience in negotiating the terms of complex documents such as contracts, service level agreements and memorandums of understanding
- Drives the team to develop shared objectives and clear indicators for success, fostering a healthy and inclusive workplace.
- Builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
Highly desirable
- Project or program management qualifications & experience
- Solid industry experience & understanding as a traffic management designer & traffic management implementer
- Knowledge of temporary traffic management drafting software such as RapidPlan
- Good working knowledge of temporary traffic management guidelines and specifications in QLD
