Aviation Screening Officers are the front-line; the heart and soul of Certis Security's operations at Adelaide Airport. They play an important role in protecting the safety and security of the travelling public, and they do so with a great deal of pride and a sense of customer service.

What you'll be doing

Adelaide Airport is undergoing a comprehensive modernisation of its screening point, and Certis ASOs are at the front-line of operating this world-class technology. It's an exciting time to join our team and while the specific duties of an ASO will vary throughout the course of your shift, you'll commonly find yourself:

• Operating various points of the screening process; ensuring passengers, staff, visitors, and their possessions are safely checked and cleared for entry
• Controlling access to security sensitive areas by undertaking physical searches, identifying dangerous or hazardous items, and remaining vigilant at all times
• Screening for any security threats in checked and oversized baggage
• Providing the best possible customer service in a safe and professional manner

Some key requirements

To work as an ASO with Certis at Adelaide Airport, you must also be:

• Able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), paid for by Certis
• Able to commit to shifts across a 24/7 roster including AM, PM and weekends
• In possession of a drivers license and own method of transport
• Comfortable to commit to a 28 hour per week permanent part time contract

Get paid to get qualified

Aviation security is an important industry, keeping travelling passengers and their loved ones safe in the air - and with this, comes some important theoretical knowledge. Certis will cover the cost of your training, including aCertificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) and 40 hours On-the-Job Training. The Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) is a nationally recognised qualification and is a requirement for all Aviation Screening Officers and is completely FREE with our Registered Training Organisation (RTO

Note that to progress into a permanent position you are required to successfully complete the Certificate II in TSP and, at the end of your On-the-Job Training, be deemed capable of making independent screening decisions.
