About the role

Are you a passionate Commis Chef/Cook looking to join our team? The "Q" Dining in Phillip, ACT is seeking a full-time or casual Commis Chef/Cook to be part of our close-knit crew. In this role, you will assist our Chef in preparing and presenting a range of delectable dishes that showcase the finest local produce and innovative culinary techniques.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all menu items to the highest standard
2. Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely delivery of meals
3. Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment in the kitchen
4. Adhere to all food safety and health regulations
5. Contribute to the development of new menu items and specials
6. Provide excellent customer service and a positive dining experience for our guests

What we're looking for

1. 1-2 years of experience as a Commis Chef/Cook in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment
2. Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating presentation
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
5. Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create delicious, visually appealing dishes
6. Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development in the culinary field
7. Current Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one
