Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Social Worker to join the Broadmeadows Older Adults Mental Health team.

About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.

In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About Mental Division Health:

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker Grade 2 (SW Gr 2) to join the Broadmeadows Older Adults Mental Health Unit (BOAMHU) team.

BOAMHU is a 19 bed Inpatient Unit providing multidisciplinary treatment to Older Adult mental health consumers in the northern metropolitan area of Melbourne.

The Social Worker (SW) Grade 2 role is pivotal to our multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver excellent care to our consumers and their families.

The SW Grade 2 will uphold clinical standards to achieve a high quality evidence based care.

At BOAMHU we will welcome you as part of a caring and innovative multidisciplinary team to work with our older adult consumers who are presenting with challenging and complex mental health needs.

As a team we are passionate of the work we do to achieve our goals and excellent care outcomes.

This position is a part time ongoing role working 40 hours per fortnight.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • A minimum of 2 years' working experience in clinical practice within mental health, preferably with older adults experiencing mental health disorders.
  • Positive team player with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
