We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Fitter to join our clients high-performing team working across key Mining & Civil Construction projects. This is a full-time, permanent position working a Monday to Friday roster located in Yatala.

As a hands-on supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of skilled trades personnel, ensuring quality maintenance and repair of a wide range of earthmoving and heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of fitters and tradespeople on-site
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Ensure all work is completed to OEM standards and in line with safety procedures
  • Coordinate with Supervisors and Managers and workshop staff to meet operational targets
  • Provide hands-on support and mentorship to team members
  • Complete required reporting, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation

About You:

  • Proven experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisory role within the mining or civil sectors
  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment and OEM brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, etc.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Current driver's licence (HR preferred)

Desirable:

  • OEM training or certifications
  • Exposure to both field and workshop environments
  • Valid high-risk work licences (e.g. Forklift, EWP)
