Job description:

The Integration Architect is responsible for designing and orchestrating seamless connectivity across digital, systems, platforms, and data flows within the enterprise technology landscape. Their mission is to ensure that disparate applications and services communicate effectively, securely, and in alignment with the broader enterprise architecture. The role will support application simplification and consolidation initiatives in the areas of coverage in support of broader enterprise technology simplification strategy. The Integration architect will work in close collaboration with Enterprise, Solution & Domain Architects and product teams.

This is a 12 month fixed-term full time opportunity

Accountabilities include:

Integration Strategy & Governance

  • Establish and embed integration principles, patterns, and standards that support Australian Unity's wellbeing strategy.
  • Define governance processes to ensure integration solutions are secure, reliable, and reusable.
  • Promote consistency and alignment across technology and business domains.

Architecture & Design

  • Design future-ready integration architectures spanning AWS, Azure, SaaS, PaaS, and on-premises platforms.
  • Develop reference models, reusable frameworks, and integration accelerators.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Domain Architects to ensure integration is aligned to broader enterprise strategy and domain roadmaps.
  • Partner with engineering teams across project delivery and hub delivery to ensure solutions are implemented effectively and sustainably.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, helping translate business needs into pragmatic integration solutions.
  • Support and mentor teams to uplift integration capability across the organisation.
  • Support applications simplification and consolidation initiative in the areas of coverage in support of broader enterprise technology simplification strategy.

About You:

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities / experience:

  • Proven experience as an Integration Architect or similar role in complex multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of integration technologies and standards (APIs, REST, SOAP, messaging, ESB, event streaming).
  • Hands-on experience with WebMethods (or equivalent platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services).
  • Understanding of digital platforms and how integration underpins member and employee digital experiences.
  • Familiarity with data integration, security, and compliance requirements in highly regulated industries (e.g., health, financial services).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire.
  • Bachelor's degree in computing, computer science, business / information systems or other IT related field
