More Than Just a Job
The Department of Education is looking for school-based psychologists in various locations across Far North Queensland Region. As a Psychologist, you can make a real difference in the lives of young people by working as part of school-based student wellbeing team to support students' wellbeing and mental health.
As part of the Wellbeing Workforce, we aim to ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed as part of the Wellbeing Workforce team are included as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
We are currently recruiting psychologists to use their professional knowledge of psychological interventions and treatments to deliver appropriate and tailored therapeutic intervention to support students' mild to moderate mental health concerns. These roles include regular access to individual and peer supervision, as well as other learning and development opportunities. The role of psychologist sits within a greater regional multidisciplinary Wellbeing Workforce which provides evidence-based therapeutic intervention, targeted mental health and wellbeing supports to students and their families.

Provisional psychologists, registrars, generally registered psychologist and psychologists endorsement (ie clinical psychology, counselling psychology or educational and developmental psychology) are encouraged to apply.

As a psychologist with the Department of Education, you will have access to a range of benefits and incentives including:
- 12.75% in employer contributions and the employee contribution rate will default to 5%
