We are seeking a friendly and energetic Sales Assistant / Food Preparation professional to join our team at the Wivenhoe Milk and Food Bar in Wivenhoe, Tasmania. This is a casual position, offering the flexibility to work around your schedule.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders and processing payments
  • Assisting with food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, salads and other light meals
  • Ensuring the work area, displays and equipment are kept clean and well-maintained
  • Restocking shelves and fridges to maintain product availability
  • Following all food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Supporting the team by undertaking other duties as required

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, preferably within the food and beverage industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide friendly and helpful service
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of food safety practices
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including week days and weekends. These include shifts starting at 3:30AM.
