We are currently seeking a skilled and adaptable Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team working in the Bowen Basin. This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, delivering high-level care to a workforce that values safety, health, and resilience.

This role operates on a 7-on / 7-off schedule, allowing for an exceptional work-life balance with extended time off, and includes travel, accommodation, and competitive remuneration.

About the Role:

As a Nurse Practitioner in this rural setting, you will function at an advanced clinical level, delivering a broad range of healthcare services to workers on-site. You'll manage primary health presentations, work-related injuries, and acute conditions, while playing a key role in workplace health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the primary and occupational health spectrum
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions independently or in collaboration with a medical team
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as required
  • Respond to workplace injuries and medical emergencies
  • Conduct coal board medicals, pre-employment medicals and drug and alcohol testing
  • Training will be provided for suitable Nurse Practitioners in specific coal industry occupational health requirements
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with legal and ethical standards
  • Be available to work outside standard hours as required by site operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher, with Advanced Nursing studies
  • Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Authorised to diagnose, treat, prescribe, and manage healthcare independently or in collaboration
  • Strong clinical judgment and capability to work autonomously in remote settings
  • Proficient in driving manual 4WD vehicles (essential)
  • Willingness to undergo National Criminal History Check
  • Australian work rights are required for this position
