We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Flood Engineer to join our Sydney team. This fantastic role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. This role can be located at either our Norwest or Sydney CBD offices, which are both located conveniently near public transport and entertainment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality flood studies, floodplain management plans, and risk assessments, clearly communicating flood conditions, regulatory requirements, and potential impacts of proposed developments on upstream and downstream properties.
  • Coordinate projects and collaborate closely with the broader development and design teams to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to peers, while mentoring and supporting junior team members in their professional growth.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and invoicing, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and the delivery of practical, high-quality solutions.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring documentation and compliance with internal and external standards.
Skills and Expertise
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ year's experience in civil or stormwater engineering and flood management related projects.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing flood studies and flood risk management plans.
  • Strong technical skills using hydrological and hydraulic modelling software and GIS tools such as TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS, DRAINS, and 12D.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and willingness to take on new challenges.
