Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Head of Finance will lead the finance function across the group — overseeing financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and business intelligence to ensure the company's continued growth and operational excellence.

The Role

The Head of Finance is both a strategic partner and operational leader. You will lead the finance function to ensure the business is financially strong, strategically aligned, and equipped to deliver on its 5-year growth plan.

In this pivotal leadership position, you will:

  • Partner with the Group CFO and executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Lead group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
  • Oversee management reporting, delivering timely and meaningful financial insights to executives and the board
  • Build and maintain a strong financial control environment to safeguard assets and ensure compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks
  • Oversee statutory tax, and regulatory compliance obligations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with Treasury on cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimisation
  • Lead scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk assessments to support strategic decisions
  • Develop and implement reporting dashboards and KPIs that measure performance and support proactive decision-making
  • Oversee system administration for finance platforms (Jobpac, Planful, Xero, M-Files), ensuring data integrity and efficiency
  • Provide financial analysis and business partnering to operational teams, supporting commercial decisions and project performance
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

About You

You're an experienced financial leader with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, plus CA/CPA (or equivalent)
  • 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role
  • Experience in construction, property development, or related industries (desired)
  • Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting for complex, multi-business unit organisations
  • Demonstrated success in translating financial data into actionable business insights
  • Advanced analytical, financial modelling, and ERP system skills (Jobpac/Procore highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, tax legislation, and compliance frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a finance team within a fast-paced, high-performing environment
