Overview

Leading the Way to Wellness

Are you passionate about making the world a healthier place through scientifically backed, responsible and compelling healthcare communications? We are looking for you, an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join our agency, full-time.

Role Overview

As a Senior Medical Writer, you will:

  • Communicate confidently and collaborate effectively with a small team of medical writers.
  • Oversee and lead portfolios with attention to detail and strategic thinking.
  • Thrive in new challenges and seamlessly navigate various brands and therapeutic areas.
  • Showcase your expertise in writing and researching diverse marketing materials for healthcare professionals & consumers.
  • Have strong presentation and pitching experience.
  • Report to the Head of Medical Copy.

Key Responsibilities

Development

  • Attend client meetings to understand their needs and strategies.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop materials aligned with client briefs.
  • Manage brands across at least three therapeutic areas (experience in ophthalmology and/or oncology communications are a plus).
  • Drive scientific and copy perspectives in client meetings.

Medical Writing

  • Craft diverse formats including, but not limited to: promotional materials, conference/meeting reports, slides sets, educational programmes, and advisory board minutes. The target audiences include GPs, specialist physicians, nurses, pharmacists, patients and carers
  • Analyse clinical papers for citations and data.
  • Reference and proofread materials to ensure accuracy and engagement.
  • Liaise with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

Team Interaction

  • Work closely with creative, account services, clients, and health professionals.
  • Provide medical insights for pitches and business development.
  • Represent the agency at client presentations and assist in mentoring junior writers.

Requirements and Personal Attributes

  • Life sciences degree (Masters, MD, PhD, BPharm, or BSci preferred).
  • 5+ years as a Medical Writer in advertising or the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Strong understanding of medical codes and guidelines.
  • Proficient in computer skills and excellent communication.
  • Strategic, creative thinker with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and collaborative with strong organizational skills.
  • Calm and effective under pressure.
