The OpportunityWe are seeking high-calibre, experienced, and self-directed Senior Criminal Defence Lawyers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will:
- Manage a broad caseload of criminal law matters, including complex and high-profile cases.
- Advocate for clients in defended and undefended matters across Local, District, and Supreme Courts.
- Provide expert legal representation in areas such as fraud, serious assault, drug offences, and white-collar crime.
- Advise high-net-worth clients on complex criminal law issues, demonstrating strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Work remotely and flexibly, structuring your workload around your lifestyle.
- Leverage legal technology, including AI-driven case management tools, to enhance efficiency and client outcomes.
- Collaborate with a team of highly skilled legal professionals while maintaining autonomy over your practice.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 5 years PQE as a Criminal Defence Lawyer.
- Proven experience in complex criminal law cases, including serious indictable matters.
- A current unrestricted practicing certificate and insurance.
- Membership with The Law Society of NSW or other states
- Advocacy experience in Local, District, and Supreme Court proceedings.
- Remote working capacity in a suitable, distraction-free , no background noise location.
- Proficiency in legal technology, including case management systems, AI-driven legal tools, Microsoft 365, Google docs and video conferencing platforms.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a supportive legal team.
- Reliable high-speed internet connectivity (cabled NBN recommended for optimal case management system performance).
