Oaks Cairns Hotelare looking for a part-time Cook who is passionate about creating delicious meals and delivering a high standard of food service to join the team.

As a Cook, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen. You'll prepare and cook a range of dishes to a consistently high standard, maintain a clean and organised workspace, and work collaboratively with the team to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
  • Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
  • Ensure great presentation of meals before service.
  • Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
  • Shift times scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods
  • Immediate start available

Hourly rates (excluding super):

Monday - Friday: $25.85 per hour

Saturday: $32.31 per hour

Sunday: $38.78 per hour

Qualifications

To be successful you will have:

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
