We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Transactions Officer to join our Finance Operations team in Adelaide CBD office a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable & Receivable Team Lead, you will be coordinating end-to-end accounts receivable (primary) and accounts payable (supportive) processes, ensuring accuracy, adequate segregation of duties compliance, and timeliness in financial transactions.
The role supports the Accounts Payable & Receivable Team Leader (as a 2IC) and Financial Control Manager in overseeing cash flow management and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiencies and fosters a close working relationship with our Commercial Market Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process overseeing invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and customer query resolution while supporting an AR Officer with complex queries and workload as required.
- Drive timely collections and minimise overdue debt by proactively managing customer accounts, monitoring DSO, and escalating risks as appropriate.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external customers to align billing with contractual terms, support negotiations with customer payment trend insights, and maintain positive commercial relationships.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance across AR and AP by reconciling sub-ledgers to the general ledger, monitoring internal controls, and adhering to accounting standards, policies, and tax requirements.
- Support financial reporting and planning through aged debtor/creditor analysis, cash flow forecasting, audit preparation, and Payment Times Reporting.
- Champion continuous improvement and team capability by mentoring junior staff, developing process documentation, and implementing automation to enhance Order-to-Cash efficiency.
Your background
- Proven experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or broader finance functions, with strong understanding of end-to-end AP / AR processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated cash flow and debtor management expertise, including effective resolution of complex AR/AP queries.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyse root causes, and implement practical solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) to support reporting, analysis, and daily operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers.
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliations.
