About the Position

We are seeking experienced Credit Assessors to join our Brisbane CBD based Credit team. In this role you will conduct high quality assessments of residential home loan applications using our in-house processing system.

Our Credit team offer flexible working arrangements, with a hybrid arrangement in place consisting of time spilt between our Brisbane CBD office and work-from-home. (All on-boarding and initial training will be conducted in-person until completion, and this may take a number of weeks)

Some of the key responsibilities include

  • Review, assess and approve mortgage applications within capacity of your delegated lending authority, thoroughly reviewing documentation to ensure the deal aligns with Firstmac policy and standards;
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support the prompt processing of the loan application;
  • Be proactive in the control of escalations and take responsibility/ownership for communication with the Broker and/or the Sales Team, ensuring that all parties are informed of the status of applications in progress;
  • Ensure all file and history notes are updated with accurate details of the assessment progress and any actions completed, to ensure all team members can progress a file with minimal investigation; and
  • Support any product, policy and technological developments and identify system and process improvements or enhancements for review.

About you

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individuals with a proven track record in a similar role. Key Attributes and skills

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in credit assessment is essential and a delegated lending authority for residential home loans and auto loans must have been held for this time;
  • Excellent knowledge of Underwriting and Credit principles, mortgage security/documentation, Mortgage insurer's guidelines and relevant legislation;
  • Knowledge of third-party origination, broker and dealer networks; and
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills to ensure excellent service delivery.
