About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Claims Officer to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of managing insurance and customer claims from end-to-end, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused outcomes while protecting Strait Link's commercial and operational interests.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Customer Claims:
- Receive, register, and assess customer claims in a timely manner.
- Determine whether customer claims are covered under insurance or recoverable from subcontractor or another third party.
- Investigate claims, gather supporting documentation, and liaise with customers, operations, sales and other stakeholders.
- Prepare claim files, correspondence, and settlement recommendations.
- Monitor and track progress of claims to resolution including any recoveries.
Insurance Claims:
- Support the management of the organisation's insurance policies and renewal programme.
- Determine whether claims are covered under insurance or recoverable from subcontractor or another third party.
- Investigate claims, gather supporting documentation, and liaise with operations, sales and other interested parties.
- Contribute to risk management initiatives by identifying trends and recurring issues in claims.
- Liaise with insurers, brokers, and internally to coordinate coverage and resolve queries.
About You:
- Experience in insurance claims management, preferably in transport, logistics, or industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, policy coverage, and liability assessment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance commercial and customer outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
