ABOUT THE POSITION

The Factory Operator/General Hand will work across a variety of business units in the Sell and Parker Group with your primary focus being on the Powder Coating line. This role will be required to operate all facets of the powder coating line including hanging, cleaning and manual labour.

The role will be responsible for the quality of the parts being produced and the output of day-to-day production.

ABOUT YOU

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, heavy fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team or independently with a can-do attitude.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must have Forklift licence
  • Good time management skills
  • Experience in the safe use of hand, power and air tools
  • Experience with manual handling and general hand tasks.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance of company safety standards and practises.
  • Ensure regular hazard assessment activities, pre-starts and participation in hazards identification programs.
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping in the work area.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting and powder coating by sanding, cleaning, masking, and applying primers as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations.
  • Operate powder coating equipment to hang, clean, and coat parts.
  • Maintain a fast-paced workflow while ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Use of Forklift and potentially other mobile plant

Precision Oxycut is a division of Sell & Parker (an Australian owned private company) and has been offering steel plate profiling and processing services since 1970. The company stocks a large range, in different steel plate grades between 3mm-300mm, and operates the largest dedicated steel plate profiling and processing facilities in NSW. Between our Sydney and Carrington plants, Precision Oxycut has the joint capacity to cut over 50 tonnes of steel plate per day.
