Senior Data Analyst – Defence Aviation Safety Environment
Join a high-impact team supporting the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) in maintaining and evolving SALAS, the central live repository for hazards and risks across ADF flying operations. We're seeking a data analytics and BI specialist who can bring a deep understanding of data governance, modelling, and communication within a safety-critical, highly scrutinised environment.

You'll operate with a good degree of independence and be trusted to navigate a range of stakeholder needs and technical considerations. While you'll have support from a broader technical team, your ability to build relationships and work effectively on site will be important.

Your Day To Day Role Will Entail

• Leading analysis and modelling of aviation risk and safety data
• Working closely with Defence stakeholders to interpret requirements and shape solutions
• Providing guidance on data governance and integration across ICT platforms
• Creating reports, dashboards and database structures that support operational insight
• Advising on continuous improvement in data presentation and structure

We're Looking For Someone Who Is

• Comfortable working with data modelling, analysis and structured reporting
• A confident communicator who can engage with a wide range of stakeholders
• Familiar with secure or Defence environments, or willing to learn
• Focused on practical outcomes and understanding how data supports decision-making
• Experienced with tools like PowerBI, SQL Server, or similar
• Able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

This role is Canberra-based and you'll play a key role in supporting DASA's mission to protect and improve the safety of Defence aviation operations.

Security clearance (NV1 minimum) or eligibility to obtain is essential.
