Job Description

This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of one or more CNC laser, tube plasma, plasma cutting machines and assist other CNC operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in safe manner and that all safety devices are in use
  • Select proper cutting programs, and proper heads
  • Stage raw material for the day's production
  • Perform all dimensional inspections
  • Load and unload machine
  • Keep an accurate record of parts and scrap produced
  • Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by management
  • Assist in loading and unloading team members' machines when production requires additional manpower to maintain though out
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations
  • Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor
  • Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing
  • Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system
  • Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position

Requirements and Skills

  • 1 or more years of manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • 1 or more years of laser operator experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in reading blueprints
  • Can properly read a tape measure and a callipers
  • Possess some knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals
  • Currently have or willing to obtain a forklift license.
  • 1 or more years experience using overhead cranes (preferred)
