Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
Specialist Courts and Programs (SCP) are the MCV Directorate responsible for driving the implementation and development of solution-focused and therapeutic approaches to justice. Our specialist responses address the underlying causes of offending behaviour and stop the "revolving door" of returning to court for individuals. Current services include Court Support and Diversion Services (CISP, ARC, CROP, Criminal Justice Diversion), Drug Court, Koori Court, the Neighbourhood Justice Centre and the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal.
Court Support Services programs include the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP), the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) and the CISP Remand Outreach Program (CROP). These programs provide arrange of initiatives to assist persons involved in the court system, who are experiencing issues of social or cultural disadvantage, including substance abuse, disability, mental illness, or cognitive impairment. These programs utilise a client-centred and problem-solving approach that empowers clients to engage with their rehabilitation and achieve positive behavioural change.
About the role
Make a real difference supporting people on bail to achieve positive change.
In this role, you'll provide client-centred case management to individuals with complex needs participating in the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP). Using a strengths-based, collaborative approach, you'll help clients engage in rehabilitation and work towards behavioural change.
What you'll do:
• Deliver holistic case management and evidence-informed interventions
• Build trust and motivate clients through person-centred planning
• Assess and manage risk while ensuring confidentiality and cultural sensitivity
• Prepare reports and represent your work in court
• Collaborate with local services to reduce barriers to access
This position is based at Geelong Magistrates' Court with occasional relief support across the Barwon South West region including Warrnambool Magistrates Court.

About you
• Tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma level; a degree is highly desirable) in a field relevant to case management with forensic clients, such as social work, psychology, welfare, drug and alcohol services, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience or capacity in case management for clients with complex needs, with strong knowledge and/or practical experience in at least one of the following areas: mental health, acquired brain injury, disability, alcohol and other drug use, family violence, or homelessness (highly desirable).
• In-depth knowledge of mental health and/or disability service systems, with proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of evidence-informed practice models and frameworks for supporting clients with complex needs, including family violence, disability, mental health, and AOD issues.
• Excellent skills in case formulation and written communication.
