This iconic Townsville pub is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join our team. We are looking for a professional, personable and experienced candidate who will share in our aim to continue our venue as the best venue in town. The venue has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation transforming the hotel into one the biggest and busiest venues in North Queensland.

The Role

Our Duty Manager plays an integral role in our venue, overseeing and supporting the day to day operations whilst promoting outstanding customer service.

Key Duties:
  • Enhancing the workplace culture & atmosphere
  • Drive service excellence & ensure a friendly & welcoming environment for staff & customers
  • Oversee the bar, gaming, TAB, food service area, retail & security
  • Day to day operations including cash balancing & stock control
  • Daily reporting & implementing procedures within the venue
Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • Min 1yrs experience as a Duty Manager of a venue that has food & alcohol service
  • Must having experience in a Commercial Hotel/Pub
  • Must have experience with Pokie machines, TAB & Keno
  • Outstanding communication & negotiation skills
  • The ability to work as a valued team member with a strong work ethic and customer focus
  • Capacity to oversee a workforce of 70+ employees
  • Exceptional personal presentations standards
  • Ability to work & remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to foster a cohesive culture & develop a team environment
  • Current RMLV Cert, Approved Manager Liquor License, RSA & RCG required
  • Must be available to work a rotating roster including days, nights, weekends, public holidays. Public holidays worked are entitled to a day in lieu
  • Must hold a current Australian Drivers License
