Engineering Graduate – Automation & Operational Efficiency

Location: Hanes – Truganina Distribution Centre

Are you a recent engineering graduate with a strong technical foundation and emerging leadership skills?  We're looking for someone with technical capability, a strong sense of ownership, and a natural drive to lead — even if it's not from a traditional career path yet.

At Hanes, our state-of-the-art Goods-To-Person (GTP) infrastructure sits at the heart of our fulfilment operations. This role is your opportunity to step into a real-time, high-output environment and help us push its performance even further.

In this role, you'll:

  • Optimise the efficiency and uptime of our GTP and automation platforms
  • Support preventative maintenance activities and weekday servicing
  • Work closely with Engineering, DC Operations and Planning to align labour and automation strategies
  • Analyse system and operational data to maximise output and ensure consistent lead times at lowest cost
  • Develop and improve scalable processes across low, medium and peak demand periods

What we're looking for:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Natural leadership qualities — you've led a team, even if not yet in the workplace
  • A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Familiarity with automation systems (e.g. Schaefer/SSI) a bonus
  • Strong skills in Excel, data analysis, and clear communication
  • Flexibility in adapting to rotating shift (morning/afternoon/night) essential.

This is a practical, hands-on role with visibility across the full operation. You'll learn fast, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a team that values curiosity, accountability, and action.
