About The Role
As a
*Pre-Sales Engineer*
, you'll be the critical link between our technology and our customers—translating technical capabilities into real-world benefits. You will work closely with the sales, product, and engineering teams to understand customer needs, present tailored solutions, and ensure a smooth technical journey from first conversation to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer engagements and bid processes
  • Deliver compelling product presentations, demos, and proof-of-concept activities
  • Understand customer challenges and translate them into technical solutions using Camlin products
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to provide feedback on customer requirements and market needs
  • Assist in preparing detailed technical proposals, documentation, and system configurations
  • Contribute to responses for tenders, RFIs, and RFPs
  • Represent Camlin at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as a technical expert

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Solid understanding of power systems, grid automation, or industrial monitoring solutions (knowledge of the rail sector is a plus)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a customer-focused way
  • Experience working in a technical sales, solutions engineering, or applications engineering role
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and customer engagements simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and events

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in the utilities or energy sector (especially with DNOs or rail infrastructure providers)
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, IoT platforms, or grid-edge technologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory and technical standards in the UK power sector
  • Background in software or hardware systems integration
