Location

Located within the heart of Canning Vale, Aegis Amherst caters for up to 133 residents, providing high quality care services in a secure and friendly living environment. Our purpose-built Facility supports our residents' every need and enables choice in daily activities.

About the Role

A working day will involve:

Providing laundry services under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager according to Facility policies, procedures and standards.

Responsible for all in-house washing.

• Compliance to policies and procedures in relation to laundry services and infection control.
• Maintenance of laundry equipment and checking of filtration devices.
• Maintain stock inventory and personal inventory of residents.
• Ironing, mending and tagging of laundry items as necessary.
• Promptly reports problems to the Facility Manager.
• Handles laundry chemicals in accordance with safety information and safe handling techniques.
• Return personal clothing to residents cupboards and maintain in tidy condition.
• Other duties as directed by the Facility Manager.

About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
• Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
• Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

• Ability to communicate in spoken and written English.
• Preferred - 1 year experience in laundry services.
